My first glance at the Dyson DC31 hand held vacuum took me by surprise. Mainly because it was a strange looking piece of equipment and looked totally different from the other dust busters in the store.
In fact it looked more like a power tool than a vacuum cleaner The assistant, noticing my interest, asked if I would like a demonstration. Since I wasn’t in any hurry, I agreed. Once I had seen for myself how powerful this little machine was, I knew no other dust buster could possibly compete.

Although it was quite a lot more expensive than the other cleaners, the Dyson DC31 Animal could do so much more. It even had a crevice tool which was interchangeable with a brush tool. Something I had not previously seen in a vacuum cleaner of that size. The real decision maker for me, however was the strong suction and spacious dust compartment which left the other cleaners in the shade.
